Visiting hours will take place at the Wrisley Funeral Home on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 4-6pm. The funeral service will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10am followed by a burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley
William Charles Chmura, 79, of South Deerfield passed away Monday, September 20. 2021. William was born on October 11, 1941 in Hadley, MA to Stanley and Stella (Koslowski) Chmura.

William who was known to most as Bill. He was educated at Hopkins Academy, followed by a stint in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany right after the Cuban Missile Crisis at the height of the Cold War. Bill returned to the states and was employed by John Stank Laboratories, Cooks and Graphics and Kodak making printing plates. He retired from Hardig Industries in South Deerfield.

Bill was a Godly man and a family man. He loved to read and was a wealth of knowledge and hobbies which included photography, furniture making, wood carving, painting, bottle and stamp collecting. Bill was a true New Englander.

Preceding him in death is his father and mother, sister Ruth Rost of Oregon and brother Eugene Chmura of Hadley. Left behind is his beloved wife of 56 years Charlene (Wanat) Chmura, son Mitchell and wife Wendy of Lenox, MA, son Michael and wife Laura of Florida, son Mark and wife Angie of Wisconsin, son Matthew and his wife Lisa of Florida, daughter Marcia and husband Jemel of North Carolina and son Marshall and wife Elaina of Florida. Bill and Charlene have 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way, many special brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
