A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church in South Deerfield, with Father Jonathan Reardon officiating. All attending should meet at the church, and plan to follow COVID-19 safety precautions. Burial will be in the spring in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Victor A. Wolejko died peacefully in his home of cancer, with his family at his side on December 31, 2020 in Sunderland, MA at the age of 83.

Victor is survived by wife, Virginia (Plaza); children: Victor M. and wife Kelley, Paul and wife Dawn, and Theresa; grandchildren Sarah, Emma, Jonathan and Brooke; nephew Alan and niece Susan Coffin. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah and brothers Edward, Stanley, and Albert.

Victor was born on February 10, 1937 in Sunderland, Massachusetts to the late Stanley Wolejko and Helen (Skorupski) Wolejko. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1955. He began work as a surveyor for Ainsworth Associates, including work on the United States Interstate Highway System and the Pentagon. He married Virginia Plaza in 1958. After building his own home in Sunderland next to his parents and brother Edward, Victor began working for Smith and Wesson in Springfield. He held various positions over his 39 year career, including a machinist and supervisor. Over ten years, the couple welcomed four children into their home. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, and patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Victor was accomplished at gardening, fishing, and sports, including baseball, basketball, football, and golf and enjoyed playing with his regular early morning group at Hickory Ridge. He was proud to be named the Golfer of the Year for the Hickory Ridge Ridgerunners and included a hole-in-one among his accomplishments. He was a coach and umpire in youth league sports in Sunderland. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sports games and outdoor activities. Victor also enjoyed travelling with Virginia and explored many beautiful places in the United States. He was a generous individual who loved his family and who had a keen sense of humor. He was also an active and dedicated member of his parish, St. Stanislaus / Holy Family Church and often volunteered at parish functions.

All will be welcome to also attend and celebrate Victor's life at a memorial service at a future date.
