MA. - Teresa (Teri) Salkaus, 59, passed away
peacefully March 16, 2015 at Farren Care Center in Montague after a long
struggle with diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis. She was born April 22, 1955 in
Athol to predeceased Anthony A. and Ellen (Austin) Salkaus.
In 1973 Teri graduated from Smith Vocational
High School in Northampton. During her 20’s she was manager
of the Munchies Store at UMass, Amherst. She later worked in food service at Smith College
dining halls and as a cashier at several area convenience stores.
Teri is survived by her sister,
Patricia Judice of Florence, brother Michael
Salkaus of Greenfield, nephews Paul Judice of Naples, Fla. and David
Judice of Lawton,
Ok., and several aunts and cousins. She will be sadly missed by her dearest
friend, Holly LaClaire of Greenfield.
Teri loved kittens & cats, wearing
hats, the British accent & England,
Leon Redbone and the blues. She always had a fondness for toddler-age children.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Farren Care Center and
Hospice of Franklin County for their gentleness and compassionate care of their
sister during the last years of her life.
At Teri’s request there will be no
calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be private at a later date in Whately Center Cemetery.
