A funeral service in memory of Stanley will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, with a calling hour from 9:30AM – 10:30AM at the Wrisley Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in St. Brigid’s Cemetery in Hadley, MA

     Stanley C. Kopinto – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stanley Chester Kopinto announces his passing after a brief struggle with illness on February 10, 2018 at the age of 97years. Stanley will be remembered by his sons Lester (Gail), Charlie (Jan), and Robert (Karen). Stanley will also be remembered by his grandchildren Corey, Allison, Kate, Brian, and Jamie, and his great-grandchildren Grace, Sawyer, and Beckett. Stanley was predeceased by his parents Isadore and Anna, Lena his wife of 69 years, his brothers Joseph, John, Isidor, Walter, Chester, Edward, and his sisters Mary, Veronica, Helen, and Annie.

 

     Stanley was born on December 31, 1920 and grew up on the family farm in Montague. Mass. , where he learned the value of hard work and a loving family. He graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1940, and upon graduation trained as an Aviation Radio Technician in Boston, Mass. He married Lena Bartos on June 2, 1947. Stanley worked as an Aviation Radio Technician for Pan Am Airlines. He then worked in the greenhouses at both Belchertown State School and the University of Massachusetts. Stanley had a love for all things that grew from the earth. There was no seed or bulb that he touched that did not spring to life. He was a man of simple joys; his family, his gardens, and the Boston Red Sox.
He will be deeply missed.
