Elaine Pielock, of Whately, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November
29th. She was 86 years old.
was the eldest child of Esther Howard Duke. Most of her young life was
spent with her grandparents, John and Leana Howard, of Lake Pleasant.
married Charles A. Pielock, who predeceased her on April 10, 1986. She is
survived by her four children: Sandra Chaffee and her family of Winchester, NH;
Robert Pielock and his family of Simi Valley, CA; John Pielock and Ed Visconti
of Chicopee; Stephen Pielock and his family of South Deerfield; and a brother,
Richard Duke and his family of Ludlow. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews
and her best friend, Frances Symanski of Whately.
was predeceased by her brothers, Earl (Buddy) and Robert Duke, as well as her
sister Marilyn (Joan) Kosuda, her grandson Sean Zetz, and her close
friend and cohort, Mary Visconti.
spent most of her adult life in Whately. She and her husband owned and
operated a school bus company, and she worked for 23 years in the Whately
schools as a cafeteria cook, retiring in 1991. She was hired as a
co-Director of the Frontier
in 1991, retiring in 2008. It was there she met her second husband, Roy
Trombley. They were inseparable until his death in 2001.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 4 from
5-7 p.m. and the funeral will be Friday, December 5th at 11 a.m. at Wrisley's
Funeral Home in South Deerfield. In lieu
of flowers, Shirley requested that contributions be made to the ‘Charles A.
Pielock Memorial Scholarship Fund’ in care of Frontier High School, 219
