Sally Marie Kushi Murray Aldrich

Funeral services will be held at Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield on May 13, 2017 with Jack Cooper officiating. Service will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland

Surrounded by those who loved her, Sally Marie Kushi Murray Aldrich, 74 of Sunderland died March 8, 2017 at New England Health in Sunderland. Sally was born on August 26, 1942 in Lynn MA, the daughter of Louis and Geraldine (Webb) Kushi. Sally was a resident of Sunderland most of her life and was a graduate of Frontier Regional High School Class of 1960 and Greenfield Community College Class of 1972.


She was an animal lover especially dogs and her time as the Sunderland animal control officer in one of the highpoints of her life. Sally was very proud of her vegetable and flower gardening skills and oversaw the yearly plant sale at the Congregational Church. Sally’s greatest joy was spending time with her five grandchildren; Gerri, Samuel, Christopher, Daniel and Victoria. Gerri, Christopher and Victoria considered “Nana” their Mother and will deeply miss her. Among her survivors, Sally leaves two daughters, Jacquelyn Boyden and her Husband Warren of Erving and Leona Howe and her partner Randall Rozkydal of Sprakers, NY; her five grandchildren Gerri M. Bennett and her husband Jeffrey of Onley Springs CO, Samuel T. Boyden of North Adams, Christopher W. Murray of Amherst, Daniel R. Boyden and his wife April of Wendell and Victoria L. Beaver and her husband Timothy of Yelm WA and two great grandchildren: Bryson and Jonathan Bennett of Onley Springs CO; her brother John Reed of National City CA, Sister in Law Eva Reed of Sarasota FL, her sister Claire Yezierski of Hadley, brothers Kenneth Kushi and his wife Carol of Sunderland, Karle Kushi and his wife Joanie of Montague and James Reed and his wife Joyce of Pensacola FL and her close friend Karin Laemle and her partner Cindi Jarrell of Harahan SC as well as many cousins and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings: Shirley Reed Labarron and her husband Robert Labarron, Earnest D. Reed, Frank Reed, sister in law Ruth Reed as well as her Niece Michaeline Yezierski.


Funeral services will be held at Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield on May 13, 2017 with Jack Cooper officiating. Service will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunderland Congregational Church or Darkin Animal Shelter.
