Richard Groh

Calling hours will be held Wed, Oct. 29thth, from 6-8PM in the Wrisley Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 30th, at 10:00AM in Holy Family Church, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

                 Whately , Mass.- Richard Groh, 64, of 242 State Road, Whately died early Saturday morning ,Oct.25,2014, at home after a period of declining health. He was born in Rochester, New York, November 22, 1949, the son of Cecily (Smith) Groh and the late Edward Eugene Groh.


                 He was educated in St. James School in Rochester, N.Y and St. Patrick’s in Stoneham, Ma. and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1967. He attended Lowell Tech and also the University of Mass. in Amherst. He traveled the North and Southwest for several years, returning to Whately 16 years ago. He was engaged in farming with Harvest Farm and raising flowers for his stand in Whately.


                 Besides his mother Cecily Groh of Cherry Hill, New Jersey he leaves a brother Michael and his wife Kristin of Watertown , Mass., two sisters Margaret Groh Ryan and her husband Steven of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Barbara Hugo of Pennsylvania. Two nephews, Ian Groh and Timothy Ryan and one niece Susan Ryan. A cousin Susan Hayes of Lauderdale By The Sea and his longtime friend Robin Macks.


                 Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8PM in the Wrisley Funeral Home Chapel, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00AM in Holy Family Church, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the charity of ones choice. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
