After returning from the war, he went to work as an orderly at Northampton Veterans Hospital in Leeds,MA. This is where he met the love of his life, Rita Krasinskas, whom he married May 20, 1950. The majority of his career was at Marlboro Hospital as a nurse anesthetist, retiring after 36 years.

He was a long term member and communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro, MA and a knight in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, birds, gardening, Jacques Cousteau, Marlboro Shamrock football games, and especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Many afternoons were spent listening to the Sox games on the radio on a warm summer day.

Rita and Paul's greatest joy and achievement was their family. They raised their three daughters in Marlboro. After retirement, Paul and Rita cruised the world visiting Hawaii,Alaska,Europe, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. They spent 53 wonderful years in Marlboro before moving to Leyden ,MA to be near their daughters.
