Paul Joseph Kuzdeba ,90,
went to his eternal sleep , March 29,2017 , at home with his loving family by
Paul was born in
Whately,MA to Peter and Magdalena (Karas) Kuzdeba. He attended local schools.
After graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy in World War II
and became a member of the Greatest Generation.
After returning from the
war, he went to work as an orderly at Northampton Veterans Hospital in
Leeds,MA. This is where he met the love of his life, Rita Krasinskas, whom he
married May 20, 1950. With her love and encouragement he attended McLean
Hospital School of Nursing in Boston,MA. He furthered his education in Boston
obtaining his certification in
anesthesia. The majority of his career was at Marlboro Hospital as a nurse
anesthetist, retiring after 36 years.
He was a long term
member and communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro, MA and
a knight in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, birds,
gardening, Jacques Cousteau, Marlboro Shamrock football games, and especially
the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Many afternoons were spent
listening to the Sox games on the radio
on a warm summer day.
Rita and Paul's greatest
joy and achievement was their family. They raised their three daughters in
Marlboro. After retirement, Paul and Rita cruised the world visiting
Hawaii,Alaska,Europe,the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. They spent 53 wonderful
years in Marlboro before moving to Leyden ,MA to be near their daughters.
He was predeceased by
his wife, Rita, after 65 years of marriage in February 2016. He leaves behind
his three loving daughters, Carol Kuzdeba and her partner John Stannard, Elizabeth
Kuzdeba and her husband Kenneth Medvetz, Paulette Kuzdeba and her partner Tom
Smith, and granddaughters Courtney and Jessica Hurley.
He was also predeceased
by his siblings, Mary Lankarge, Sophie Wrisley, Myron Kuzdeba, Helen Brezicki, Frank Kuzdeba and Anna Ciesluk.
To say thank you does
not seem adequate . The family would like to thank Hospice of Franklin
County,Alana , Mary and Michelle, and caregivers Tracy,Chris and Edna. A
special acknowledgment to Dr Adam
Garretson and staff of Pioneer Valley
Family Practice. Their care, compassion and love made his final years a true
blessing. With their care and support, Paul remained at home with his family
until his passing.
Calling hours will be
from 2PM to 4PM on Sunday April 2 ,2017 at the Wrisley Funeral Home at 90
Sugarloaf Street in South Deerfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday,
April 3,2017at 10:15 AM from Wrisley Funeral Home. Followed by a liturgy of
Christian Burial at 11 AM at the Holy Family Church also on Sugarloaf
Street in South Deerfield. Burial will be in the spring at St Stanislaus
In lieu of flowers,the family requests any donations to be made to
Hospice of Franklin County or Knights of Columbus.
