Michele Gail Wiater

Amherst - Michele Gail Wiater, 61, of Sunderland, died on November 15 at the Fisher Home, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Michele was born Feb. 25, 1952 to the late Stanley and Ann (Misholovsky) Wiater and grew up in Hadley. Michele earned a PreMed degree from UMASS/Amherst, a Med Lab Tech degree from Springfield Technical Community College, and a MBA from Western New England College. Michele had been employed at New England Telephone, as well as tutored special needs students. Michele loved traveling, saxophone music, gardening, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, scrapbooking, and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed her time working with children and her husband's cooking.


Michele is survived by her husband, Michael Brewer, sisters Linda Latham and her husband Amaar of Chicopee, Lori Harper and her husband Bryan of Hadley, and Lisa Wiater of Oak Ridge, New Jersey, her brother, Stanley Wiater, his wife Iris and their daughter Tanya of Holyoke, her daughter Melissa Crocker and grandchildren Alexis Bilodeau, Hanna Patrick and Damien Crocker of Westfield.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sunderland Public Library, 20 School Street, Sunderland MA 01375, the Amherst Survival Center, P. O. Box 9629, North Amherst, MA 01059 or The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, New York, NY 10022.
