Florence, Mass.- Michael S. Rajter Sr., 79, of 56 Maple Street,
died Sunday Dec. 7,2014 in the Cooley Dickinson Hospital,
was born in Malenska, Poland October 13,1935 the son of
Joseph and Apolonia (Maturniak) Reiter. He came to the U.S. at age thirteen, not knowing English. He made
his home in South Deerfield. He was educated
in Deerfield schools and graduated from Smith
School in Northampton
iin 1953. He was later married to Janet LaFrenier and they made their home in Florence. Michael was
employed as a machine operator at Multi-Color in Hatfield.
survived by one son Michael S. Rajter Jr. of Wendall, four daughters, Terri
Pike and her husband James of Monroe Bridge, Sherri Rajter of Readsboro, Vt.,
Kathy Golling of Clearwater, Fla. And Lori Cristofori and her husband Ross of
Westhampton. Twelve grandchildren , six great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Stanley Rajter and Joseph Reiter.
There are no
calling hours. A Paristas Service will be celebrated Thursday, December 11,
2014 at 1:00PM in Holy Spirit Ukrainian Church with Rev. Robert Markovitch , pastor
officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery , Whately. Arrangements are
under the direction of the Wrisley Funeral Home, South
Deerfield. Donations in his memory may be made to the Renovation Fund Holy Spirit Ukrainian Church 44 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, Ma.
