Turners Falls, MA — Michael H. Graves, 65, of Bulkley St died unexpectedly on Tuesday 6/21/22, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Greenfield on April 2, 1957, the son of Ronald and Patricia (Kelley) Graves of South Deerfield. He attended local schools, and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1975. He continued his education at Greenfield Community College.

On January 17, 1983, Michael married Sandi Harris Graves, and during their more than 39 years together, they raised two children, and several pets - all of whom were great sources of joy to Michael.

He was most recently employed by Stop & Shop Greenfield, but earlier in his life, he was able to expand upon his love of cooking, while honing his skills in area restaurants including Brickers and the Deerfield Inn. While he was happy in his work, he was especially proud of the more personal work that he, Sandi, and their new neighbor put in over the past several months in renovating their new home.

In addition to cooking, Michael was passionate about the Red Sox and the Patriots; as well as the sporting events, drama and artistic pursuits of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, alpine sliding, board and card games, word search puzzles, M&Ms and red licorice and anything from the bar-b-que, and was best known for his cheerful willingness to help anyone, with anything, at any time. He will be missed.

Besides his wife Sandi Harris Graves, Michael leaves his children, Michael H. Graves Jr. and Hilary McAllister; the three grandchildren who lit up his life - Jacksyn, Violet, and Ronan; his mother, Patricia Graves; his sister Janice Tringale (Frank); the Harris siblings; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his ever-present companion Gadget.

He was predeceased by his father, Ronald H. Graves, and all of his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Graveside services will be held Saturday 7/2 at 11:00 am at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Deerfield, MA. Memorial contributions are suggested to any organization dedicated to serving the homeless. Arrangements were made under the direction of Wrisley Funeral Home of South Deerfield
