Margaret I. Miller, of Sunderland, died peacefully surrounded by her family on
Monday March 9, at the ripe old age of 97 and 1/2 years of age. She was born in Springfield,
On September 8, 1917.
She lived an unusual life
beginning with the loss of her parents when she was an infant.
She was adopted by an aunt
and uncle, and lived a happy life with many unusual and interesting
events. As a teenager, she met the love
of her life at a dance, at Kushusko Hall in Greenfield.
Their married life was peaceful and uneventful, living in Sunderland their entire married life, they had three
children, Sandra Kolasinski, Linda Culver, Vernon Miller, Jr. (Buck). They enjoyed their cottage on Lake Champlain,
they could always be found working together in all that they did.
Her life changed on a Sunday
afternoon in 1968 when Vernon
died suddenly. She never remarried.
She formerly worked at
ProBrush in Florence
and UMass until her retirement.
Besides her children, she
leaves 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren
and 2 more that she hasn't met yet.
A Calling Hour will be
Wednesday from 1 to 2PM at the Wrisley Funeral Home in South
Deerfield. There will be a
religious service at the funeral home at 2PM followed by a time for food and
fellowship at holy family church, Pope John Paul center on Sugarloaf Street in
Private Burial will be at
the convenience of the family at a later date.
