Calling hours at the Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield will be held Friday,Dec.15th. from 5-7:00PM. The Rosary Confraternity will recite the Rosary Friday evening at 5:00PM. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec.16th. at 9:15AM followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Family Church, South Deerfield. Burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery will be held in the spring

Margaret B. Konieczny (Nartowicz) 86, of South Deerfield

Massachusetts left this world On December 11, 2017 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born on May 28, 1931 to Joseph and Stacia (Darmofal) Bubrowski.

Margaret (Peg) married Edwin B. Nartowicz on

February 4, 1950. Edwin died January 12, 1998.

She leaves her four sons: Edwin B. Jr. and his wife

Joanne of Lexington Kentucky, David P. and his partner

Terry Siegel of Tucson Arizona, Steven M. and his partner

Karen Higgins of Plainfield Massachusetts and Brian J. and

his wife Margaret of South Deerfield Massachusetts.

 

She also leaves 8 Grandchildren: William and his wife Amy

Of Norwich Vermont, Nicole Nartowicz of South Deerfield,

Marie and Alex Nartowicz of Lexington Kentucky, Matthew

Nartowicz and his partner Marissa Valenza of Plainfield

Massachusetts, Joshua Nartowicz and his wife Roxanne

Of Ft. Meyers Florida, Justin Nartowicz of St. Petersburg

Florida and Jennifer Middleton of Lemoyne, Nebraska.

She also leaves 5 Great-Grandchildren: Gavin and Kiera

Nartowicz of Norwich Vermont, Lillian and Tyr Nartowicz

Of Ft. Meyers Florida and Evelyn Nartowicz of Plainfield

Massachusetts.

 

Peg married Chester H. Konieczny on May 31, 2003. He

Pre-deceased her. She also leaves Chet’s children:

Steven and his wife Sheila, John and his wife Robin and

Debra and her husband Jacque Haon. Also grandchildren

Jeffery, Emma, Chloe, Emma, Ragan and Maggie.

Peg also leaves her sisters-in-laws Gladys Nartowicz,

North Nartowicz and Cecelia (Ceka) Bubrowski, brother

In-law Don Thorpe, Ann & Karl Konieczny and Joan Konieczny.

She also leaves her dear friends Stacia Rotkiewicz and Sandy

& Ed Lacey. She was pre-deceased by her brother

Joseph Bubrowski.

 

         Peg was employed for 12 years as a telephone operator

At New England Telephone & Telegraph. Later, she was employed for 26 years at the Umass Foreign Resource

Center as Assistant Director.

 

         Peg loved her family and the many gatherings they always had at her home. She enjoyed Saint Cecilia Choir and was a member for more than 30 years. She was also a member of, and former president of Saint Anne’s Society, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Rosary Confraternity.

 

         Peg loved her Polish heritage and going to polka dances near and far with Edwin and later with Chet.

 

         The family would like to deeply thank the nurses at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital ICU for the thoughtful and compassionate care that they gave Peg during her stay there.
