Lois M. Brown, 71, of 108 Lee Road, South Deerfield passed away peacefully Thursday (03/16/17) with both her daughters by her side.


Lois was born February 12, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts.  Daughter of Francis and Frances (Mills) Wenzler. On Feb.7th 1964 she married Fredric I. Brown of Conway. They made their home in Leyden, spending many happy years there raising their family.


In 1984, Lois graduated from Kay Harvey Beauty School and became a hairdresser.  She opened Hilltown Hair Shoppe and enjoyed many years of hairdressing until retiring in2014. 

Lois enjoyed entertaining family and friend’s poolside, tag sales, gardening, bowling, fishing, casino trips, and loved her cats dearly. 


Family meant everything to her.  Her love for them was unlimited and the love for her just as strong.

She will be sadly missed by her family.  Survivors include her Daughter Dianne and husband Ernest Royer and grandsons Ernest Jr. and Alexander of Leyden, Daughter Doreen Brown and granddaughter Ashley Witherspoon of South Deerfield, Son David Brown of Bernardston and grandchildren Krystal, David Jr., and Paige.  She also had four great grandchildren.


Lois was predeceased by Sisters Jean and Susan and brother Joseph.  Survived by sisters Nancy (Gary) Munter of Shelburne, Lynne Libby of Hopkinton. Brothers include Frank of Rindge, NH, Peter and Kurt (Eileen) of Colrain,and Karl (Cindy) of Greenfield.  Stepsister Bonnie Rae of Greenfield, and step brothers Jimmy (Terry) Rae of Buckland and Joey Rae of Colerain.  She also had many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
