A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wed., March 8, 2017 in St. Brigids, Church, Amherst at 10:00AM. A visitation at the Wrisley Funeral Home, South Deerfield will be held from 8:30 to 9:15AM. Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery in Hadley.

       Greenfield- Joseph F. Adamitis, 91, of3525 N.W. 51st. Ave., Gainesville, Fla., died Feb.25, 2017 in the Malcolm Randall V.A. Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was born in Whately Jan.9, 1926, the son of John and Amelia (Kucinskas) Adamitis. He grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School.


         Joseph was a World War ll Navy veteran and worked as a Dialysis Technician in several V.A. hospitals in New Hampshire, Maine, Florida, and the V.A. Hospital in Leeds, Retiring after 30 years of service. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, of which Joanne Pliska of Hadley and Ronald Bohonowicz of South Deerfield were the closest.


           He was predeceased by one brother, John Adamitis and two sisters, Mary Bohonowicz and Catherine Cole.
