South Deerfield- John F. Ciesla, 71, of 60 Hillside Road, South
Deerfield, died early Tuesday morning, May 13,
2014, at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Chicopee, Nov.7, 1942,
the son of Frank and Mary (Ethier) Ciesla.
Jack was educated in Chicopee schools and
graduated from Chicopee
High School, Class of
1960. He later entered the Army and served during the Cuban Crisis.
He married Patricia McGreevy,
August 26, 1967 in St Ann’s Church in Worcester. In early years he worked as a
banker in Lebanon, N.H. They moved to Greenfield in 1971 where he was transferred to the First
National Bank of Greenfield. He moved to South
Deerfield in 1974 where he became Vice-President of Pioneer
National Bank. After banking he owned Contemporary Windows and Siding Co.,
until his retirement.
John was a member of Holy Family
Church. Chairman and original member of the DEDIC
Committee which formed the Industrial Park in South
Deerfield. He was an avid skier and a ski instructor in New Hampshire.
Besides his wife Patricia of South
Deerfield, he leaves a son John Thomas Ciesla and his companion Karyn Lutz of
West Deerfield, one daughter, Tammy Ciesla of Windsor, Mass., and one sister
Alberta Quill of Westfield.
Funeral services will be held
Friday, May 16,2014, at 9:15AM from the Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South
Deerfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Family
Church. Burial will
follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
A Calling Hour will precede the service from 8:15am until 9:15AM. Donations in
