Janet Stacy, Ocala, Fla. – Janet M.
(Batchelder) Stacy, 81 formerly of Conway, MA, passed away on Sunday, January 25th, 2015 in Ocala Regional
She was born in Conway on March 1st, 1933,
the daughter of Edward and Vena (Sirois) Batchelder. She was a 1950
graduate of Arms Academy
High School in Shelburne Falls, MA.
She was married to Alva C. Stacy on August 2nd, 1953, who
pre-deceased her on May 19th, 2014. They celebrated their 60th
wedding anniversary August 2nd, 2013. Most of their married life was
spent in Conway,
living in the large brick house on Main
Street where they raised their three sons. They
later moved to Saddle Oak in Ocala,
Florida in 1995 to begin their
retirement years together.
Janet was employed by Bank of New England in South
Deerfield, Cliffside Apartments in Sunderland and later at Franklin County Home
Care. She was a member of Arcana Chapter Order of Eastern Star. In her
younger years she enjoyed bowling, dancing and traveling. She always
loved spending time at the beach and socializing with her family and friends.
She leaves three sons: Charles and his companion
Laurie Baronas of South Deerfield, MA, Gary and his wife Sandy of Florence, MA
and John and his wife Diane of Bernardston, MA. She also leaves behind
nine grandchildren: Greg, Brandon, Christopher, Andrea, Scott, Alison,
Heather, Sarah & Alex and seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Madalyn,
Hannah, Hunter, Emma, Marissa and Colt. Also, three sisters: Joan Record
and her husband Rec of Ocala, FL, Lois Phelps and her husband Jack of Millers
Falls, MA and Sandy Isenhour and husband Frank of Painesville, Ohio. Her
family was very fortunate to have spent this past Christmas with her here in Massachusetts.
Although she did not enjoy the coldweather, she was surrounded by the warmth
and love of her family and friends and she will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 6,
2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield.
Calling hours will be Thursday evening, February 5th from 5:00 to
8:00 pm. Burial will be at Howland Cemetery in Conway and will take place
in the spring.
