South Deerfield, MA — James Pasiecnik, 67, passed away on the evening of Friday, January 21st after a three year battle with multiple myeloma. Born October 25, 1954 to parents Muriel "Peggy" Pasiecnik and Michael Pasiecnik, he grew up in Whately, MA, and was one of 7 siblings: his sisters Carol, Mary, Nancy and Mikki and his two brothers Michael and Phillip.

A third-generation farmer, Jimmy always had a green thumb and in 2000, purchased the family farm from his father and dedicated the rest of his life to the farm that would be his legacy. He operated his large potato farm alongside many workers who would become lifelong friends. He was very involved in his town, serving on the Deerfield Planning Board for many years. The beloved Pasiecnik Farmstand and 5J Creamee that he started with his daughters and their mother has become a staple in the summer for visitors and locals across the Pioneer Valley. He was well known for his generosity, his sense of humor and his John Wayne-esque presence.

He is survived by his three daughters: Justine, Joanna and Jil Pasiecnik. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Dakin Animal Shelter. Services are private, under the direction of Wrisley Funeral Home
