Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:15am from the Wrisley Funeral Home followed by a Paristas Service at 10am in the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Church, celebrated by Fr. Robert Markovitch, pastor.  Calling hours are Monday, Sept 21st, from 5 to 7pm with a Panachyda Service at 6:30pm at the funeral home

South Deerfield – Irene R. Michalowski, 89, of 32 Graves St., South Deerfield, died Thursday afternoon, September 17, 2015.  She was born in Whately, MA on February 12, 1926, the daughter of John and Catherine (Mikoluk) Olynik.

She was educated in Whately schools and graduated from Deerfield High School in the class of 1944.  Irene later married Stanley “Jack” Michalowski on July 14, 1945 in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Church.  They made their home in Whately, later moving to South Deerfield.  Jack predeceased her on March 19, 2012.

Irene was an active member of the Holy Spirit Church, the Deerfield Women’s Club, Frontier Senior Center, an Avon Representative years ago, and worked as a bookkeeper for the Pepsi Cola Co. 

She is survived by one son, David Michalowski and his wife Karen of South Deerfield, two daughters; Diane Geryk and her husband Walter of Hatfield and Sandra Leary and her husband Shaun also of Hatfield, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
