There will be a visitation from 9:30 – 10:30AM at the Wrisley Funeral Home , Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Family Parish Church on Friday,, May 11, 2018, at 11:00AM. The Rosary Confraturnity will recite the Rosary at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery

South Deerfield- Helene “Helen” (Paciorek) Finkowski, 95, passed away

at home on May 5th, 2018. Born, October 20, 1922.   Daughter of

Walter Sr. and Mary (Florkowski.). She was raised in South Deerfield, educated in local schools, and attended The Delehanty Institute in New York City which led to a position as a clerk at the Norden Bombsite Company. She joined the WAVES in 1943, was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Miami, Florida, and was discharged in 1946. Returning to S.outh Deerfield, she worked in her father’s market and attended Northampton Commercial College. On September 28th, 1947, she married Wallace Finkowski at the former St Stanislaus Church in South Deerfield. Wallace predeceased her in June of 2007. She worked at Lunt Silversmith in Greenfield until her retirement. Helen was a member and past President of the Thomas Ashley American Legion Post 229 Woman’s Auxiliary. She was a member of the Rosary Confraternity, a charter member of St Anne’s Sodality, and a communicant of the Holy Family Parish Church. Her interests included bowling, sewing, and cooking, especially mushroom soup and pineapple cheesecake. She is survived by her three children, Leonard of South Hadley, James and his wife Peggy of Nathrop, CO, daughter Audrey of S. Deerfield, and her two dear grandchildren, Kelly and Michael, both of Denver, CO. Her four brothers, Walter Paciorek Jr (Joyce) of Sunderland, Andrew Paciorek (Karen) of Northampton, John Paciorek (Sharyn) of S. Deerfield, Joseph Paciorek (Dena) of San Antonio, TX, three sisters, Anna Thurber of Sarasota, FL, Josephine Shackett and Barbara Engstrom of Greenfield, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Henry, Chester, and Thomas. There will be a visitation from 9:30 – 10:30AM at the Wrisley Funeral Home , Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Family Parish Church on Friday,, May 11, 2018, at 11:00AM. The Rosary Confraturnity will recite the Rosary at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.   The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers from Comprehensive Home Care. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Holy Family Parish Church Capital Improvement Fund or Hospice of Franklin County.
