Leverett, MA.- Gladys E. Hatt , 74 , of
43 Long Plain Road, Leverett died Monday , March 9,2015 in the New England
Health Center in Sunderland. She was born in Charlemont Feb.28, 1941, the
daughter of Wilford and Frances (Allis) Meunier. She was educated in Whately
schools and graduated in 1958 from Smith
Vocational High
School in Northampton.
Gladys went to the Peabody
Hospital for Crippled
Children to earn her nurses training. In early years she worked at Oxford
Pickle Co., a division of John E. Cain in South Deerfield.
She later worked as a CNA for Amherst Nursing Home for several years before her
retirement.
Gladys was married to Robert E. Hatt
in Whately on January 26, 1964. They made their home in Whately, later moving
to Leverett. She attended the Whately Congregational Church and was a member of
the Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her husband Robert E., she leaves two
sons Robert Hatt and his wife Gail of Moody, Alabama and Bruce Hatt of Leverett. Two
Daughters Judith Ann Guglielmo of Bradenton, Fla. and Barbara Williams of Granby, Texas.
One sister Carolyn Meunier of Dexter,
Maine. Two sister-in- laws
Sharron Meunier and Kathy Meunier. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, and cousins. A son Scott A. Hatt predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Monday,
March 16, 2015 at the Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield
with calling hours from 5-7PM. with a Religious Service at 6:00PM in the
Funeral Home Chapel celebrated by Robert F. Hatt.
