R. Judice, most recently of Applewood (member of the Loomis Communities) in Amherst, died Wednesday
evening, July 15, after a six-month courageous battle with failing health.
Born October 24, 1932, in Queens,
New York City, he was the son of
the late Katherine (Kupskas) and Frank A. Judice. Mr. Judice graduated from Mepham High School
in Bellmore, NY, in 1950.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, he went on to earn an
Associate Degree at the State University of New York at Farmingdale in June
A field service technician, he worked for IBM from 1957 to 1988,
and subsequently for Eastman Kodak from 1988 to 1996. A skilled and patient
man, he had the reputation of being able to fix almost anything. He
particularly loved collecting and repairing clocks, and was a lifetime member
of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He also loved
photography and was a talented woodworker.
On July 22, 1978, he married Jo Ann (Fitch), formerly of Guilford, VT.
He is survived by his loving wife; two brothers—Edward (Huiping) Judice of
Framingham, MA, and William
Bobersky of Satellite Beach, FL; a sister, Rita Hines of Bellmore,
NY; nephew Edward Hines (Sheila) of Wendell, MA; brother-in-law Dwight Fitch of
Townsend, MA,; sisters-in law Mary Fitch of Townsend, MA, and Barbara Fitch
Haumann of Guilford, VT; numerous nephews, grand nephews, nieces and grand
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Holy Family Church, South Deerfield, MA, with
a reception following. Burial will be held at Christ
at the family’s convenience. Wrisley Funeral Home, South Deerfield, MA, is in
charge of arrangements.
