A Memorial Service will be held December 27, 2016 in the Wrisley Funeral Home Chapel, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, at 11:00AM with the Rev. Edward Larson officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec.27th, from 9:30AM until the time of the service

     South Deerfield- Elizabeth L. “Betty” Turner, 83, of 24 Elm Street, South Deerfield, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2016 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
     She was born in Whately, July 18, 1933, the daughter of Paul Holich Jr. and Christine Bulivchia. She was educated in Whately schools and graduated from Smith Vocational High School. In early years she worked on the family farm and later married Wallace A. “Dutch” Turner on July 16, 1966. Betty worked in the Dining Commons at the University of Mass., Amherst for thirty-two years. After retirement she worked in tobacco at the Alan Sanderson Farm in Whately.
     She was an active member of the Frontier Senior Center, a member of the Council on Aging, South County Triad, and the Senior Housing Committee. She is survived by her husband Dutch Turner, Nieces and nephews, and her Godson Charles Tenanes. She also leaves her pet dog “Jack”.
