Deerfield- Edward Leonard Makowski, 81, of Conway Road, South Deerfield, passed
away on Sunday, September 15,2013, in the Cooley Dickinson Hospital,
Northampton where he was a patient for several days.
He was born
in Northampton, Feb.9, 1932, the son of Antoni and Melania (Finkowski)
Makowski. He was educated in local
schools and graduated from the former Deerfield High School and Northampton
Commercial College. Edward was married to Joyce Sliwa, April 28, 1958 in St. Patrick’s Church, Northfield. They made
their home in South Deerfield. Edward was a
retired comptroller at the Farren
in Montague. He was a member of Holy Family Church,
South Deerfield. He was a church collector,
did volunteer work at the church, and
was involved in management of the Parish cemetery.
survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce; two sisters, Hilda Interland
of Enfield, Conn.
and Helen Sadoski of South Deerfield. Several
nieces and nephews.

in Holy Family Church to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial with the
Rev. Fr. Philippe Roux, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in
St. Mary’s Cemetery in Northfield.
