David Daniel Baker

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Nov 13th, at 9:45am from the Wrisley Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 11am in the Holy Family Church. South Deerfield – David Daniel Baker, 76, of 30 Elm Circle, died November 6, 2014 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born on August 29, 1938 in Concord, MA to Harold and Charlotte (Donaghue) Baker.

 

He married Linda (Wisenski) Hall on August 9, 1969.

 

David graduated from Concord High School in 1956 and attended Greenfield Community College. He worked for I.B.M. in Concord from 1957 to 1961. He then made his career with the Massachusetts State Police (rtt #45) from 1962 to 1988, retiring as a Lieutenant. After his retirement from the State Police, he worked for Sevryn Construction Co. out of Ludlow, MA as an investigator from 1988 to 2000. He also owned Biffington’s Tavern, with his partner Russell Herzig from 1977 to 1995.

 

He was a member of the Royal Order of the Moose in Greenfield, MA, the VFW in Shelburne, MA, the Greenfield Lodge of Elks, the Polish American Citizen’s Club in So. Deerfield, and the Wheelerville Social Club in Orange, MA. He enjoyed his grandchildren, kitchen work at many Elk’s Club dinners and benefit dinners, grocery shopping!, fishing, travel and skiing.

 

Besides his wife Linda, he leaves his three sons, Mark R. Baker and his wife Kelly Bovio Baker of Ipswich, MA, Michael H. Baker of South Deerfield and Jeffrey D. Baker and his wife Kelly Daniels Baker of South Deerfield; four grandchildren, Samantha Baker, Benjamin Baker, Madison Baker and Zachary Baker; his sister Nancy Crowley of Concord, MA and several nieces and nephews.
