Brenda G. (Stetson) Couture

No calling hours. A memorial service, Saturday, June 9th, at 1:00pm at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish on 15 Thayer Street in South Deerfield, MA.

Brenda G. (Stetson) Couture, 63, died unexpectedly in the early morning of June 5th. She was the daughter of Merle and June (Lanoue) Stetson, born and raised in Griswoldville, part of Colrain, Massachusetts. A graduate of Arms Academy, class of 1966, she recently planned her class’s 45th reunion.

She is married to Joseph L. Couture and they happily shared 19 years of life together. As her children grew, Brenda enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and was an active member on the Sunderland School Committee and PTO. She was a hair stylist, certified nursing assistant, and most recently worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Board of Selectman for the town of Southampton. She loved cats, her convertible, the Red Sox (especially Mike Lowell), facebooking, gardening, playing cards, and vacationing on Marco Island, Florida with friends and family. She had a strong spiritual belief and was a communicant of the Holy Name of Jesus Church of South Deerfield. She volunteered for the Joan Stetson and Friends Christmas Cookie Triad for many years. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed her grandchildren, and looked forward to all family events.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Joseph, her sons William Chmyzinski of Montague, Daniel Chmyzinski and his wife Jessica, of New Salem, stepson Joseph Couture of Boston, stepdaughter Margaret Couture of Holyoke, two grandchildren Samuel and Amanda Chmyzinski, two brothers R. Gary Stetson of Deerfield, Dennis Stetson and his wife Susan of Buckland, an aunt, Shirley Jefferson of Shelburne Falls and several niece, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Joan Stetson

Our dearest Brenda you will be greatly missed by all of us, you have touched and given so much to so many and asked for nothing in return. You were a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, we will miss you so much.
