CONWAY, MA — Ann E. (Zipperling) Hawkes, 79, passed peacefully at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst, MA on Monday May 31, 2021 after a short period of declining health.

She was born in Adams, MA on February 21, 1942 and after graduating high school she attended School for Hairdressing, and soon after opened her own shoppe in her hometown. She was also a well-known cake decorator, and gave her time and dedication to the Conway Firemen's Women's Auxiliary, Relay For Life and enjoyed working at the Old Deerfield Country Store. She was an avid crafter, loving her knitting, crocheting, and ceramics.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Ronald Hawkes; daughters: Joy Holhut, Kim Mckenzie and her husband Matthew, all of Conway and Liana Gaston of Copake, NY; her sisters: Jay LeBeau of Florida, MA and Lee Zipperling of Savoy, MA and mother-in-law Phylis Dacey of Conway. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Courtney and Scott Face, Danelle Summers and her fiancé Jonah Spampinato, and Kyle Summers all of Copake, NY. She is predeceased by her parents William and Lillian (Keller) Zipperling formerly of Adams, MA; her stepfather-in-law Richard Dacey and son-in-law Ronald Holhut, both formerly of Conway, MA.
